The topic today is something we’ve talked about before. After catastrophic events like Hurricane Michael, it is imperative that you understand the claims process, and ensure that you do not fall victim to fraud.

Do not sign an A.O.B.

What is it? An A.O.B. is an assignment of benefits. If your claims adjuster has not gotten to you yet, don’t panic. They will. If a contractor gets to you before your adjuster gets to you, deal with your insurance company – call the company, call your insurance agency, call us!

An assignment of benefits will only prohibit you from dealing with your claim. Your rights will be taken away from you dealing with this claim. My message is clear. Do not sign an A.O.B.

Protect yourself. I hope this helps.

Thank you.

A message from CFO Patronis: Beware of AOB Abuse

Historical Information

This was our message post-Irma. There were hundreds of A.O.B. fraud reports after Harvey, Irma and Matthew. We hope this information will help you understand the severity of this issue. If you have any questions, please call us.
